I use these values, but 25% should be fine for your system. Disk: use at most 10 GB Disk: leave free at least 0.001 GB Disk: use at most 100% of total Tasks checkpoint to disk at most every 60 seconds Swap space: use at most 100% of total Memory: when computer is in use, use at most 100% of total Memory: when computer is not in use, use at most 100% of total SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I give BOINC on every Machine 10GB. More then 1,2GB i never needed on any machine. On several of my systems I put BOINC on a separate partition. Either the swap partition of the system, or a BOINC only partition of about 2GB. Which is more than enough even for my 24 core machine with a 10 day cache. On my Core 2 Duo T7200 I use 200MB partition. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

if you crunch and other projects about for example Einstein 10GB will be very low if you want to have a cache for 10 days :) |

Yes i crunch Einstein too (but not 10 days cache (only for seti) cos running on a machine with 9GB/month HSDPA/UMTS Mobile Stick AND Seti too ^^), it is the one with the biggest need :) 64Tasks need round 3GB....Öhm ups..ok then one machine using more then 1,2GB ^^ *G* I forgot :) |
