Austria? Neither of these two. Reminds me of the pic of the linear accelerator lab we played a month or so ago. Though not in Swiss, you're definitely on to something. Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿ |

See any neutrino? Nope, they were faster than I could see them :) Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿ |

Looks quite an industrial complex. Or more likely a scientific establishment. So for the country. Hmmm, certainly mountainous region, and given the low angle of the sun are we talking more Northern Europe than Southern Europe. Still think a Germanic country, so lets go for Germany... A clue must be those long gutters on the LH buildings. Not sure about that, but Donald and especially Tulio gave the best clues so far. Looks quite an industrial complex. I'd vote for the second option, but out of Germany. Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿ |

Hmm, two tiny countries to consider: Liechtenstein and Luxembourg Now I wander what those two have got hidden within their tiny boarders... I'll just throw them into the pot to get them chucked out again. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

A particle accelerator lab, but not CERN, not Switzerland or Germany but somewhere close. Are there any high-energy physics labs in Austria , Poland, or the Czech Republic? Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

A particle accelerator lab, but not CERN, Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Are there any high-energy physics labs in Austria , Poland, or the Czech Republic? Maybe there are, but this is not one of them. Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿ |

OPERA house? Among other things... in a way it is ;) It is obvious that you know what it is, so can you please be more specific. Who the hell is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk?¿ |

It should be a building of the Gran Sasso National Laboratory where neutrinos coming from CERN in Geneva were clocked at a speed higher than the speed of light, a result much discussed. The lab is underground, so this could be an entrance building. On the background I see the autostrada which has a tunnel under the Gran Sasso mountain. Abruzzo Region, Italy. Tullio |

This town was the site of another physics experiment 4 centuries ago. Name the city, the river and the scientist who did the experiment. Tullio |
