It looks like an observatory of some sort to me. Somewhere in Europe?

Is the main telescope a 30-cm-refractor built in 1907 by Carl-Zeiss Jena?

Is the main telescope a 30-cm-refractor built in 1907 by Carl-Zeiss Jena?

You forgot the Fraunhofer two-lens system of 30 cm aperture and focal length of 5.05 meters, allowing maximal 600-fold magnification.

OK, nuff messin' around... It's the Tower of the Urania observatory in Zurich.

An observatory in the space science based fora?
...well it was easy :)

It is early morning here and I need some sleep. In the meantime, if Gary wants to take this one (I'm sure he also knew the answer) he is welcome, if not I'll find something this afternoon.

I have put a picture of an observatory on the mystery photo thread before - and stumped people for days...

I've go to get zzz's too and Zeus you have time zones on me, so it is yours.

FYI stuff from flyspeck size islets always seems to take a while.

Blue sky, no potholes in the roads and the blatant lack of trash leads me to believe this is in Europe?

If you've concluded this only from look at the skies and some asphalt observation, I'm surprised you did not immediately figured out the whole thing :)

Reminds me of the pic of the linear accelerator lab we played a month or so ago.
