Does Boinc Run Benchmarks on CPU automatically ? I didn't tell it to run... 9/1/2011 6:46:48 PM | SETI@home | Started upload of 28mr11ab.5155.24607.6.10.90_0_0 9/1/2011 6:47:00 PM | SETI@home | Finished upload of 28mr11ab.5155.24607.6.10.90_0_0 9/1/2011 6:47:09 PM | | Running CPU benchmarks 9/1/2011 6:47:09 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU benchmarks in progress 9/1/2011 6:47:37 PM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. 9/1/2011 6:47:37 PM | SETI@home | Reporting 2 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 9/1/2011 6:47:40 PM | | Benchmark results: 9/1/2011 6:47:40 PM | | Number of CPUs: 4 9/1/2011 6:47:40 PM | | 2288 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 9/1/2011 6:47:40 PM | | 6819 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 9/1/2011 6:47:42 PM | | Resuming computation 9/1/2011 6:47:48 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed |

I believe BOINC's internal scheduler is set for every 5 days. At least that's what I think I remember reading here. If your stdoutdae.txt file goes back far enough, look for the previous benchmark. Lt |

You're running 6.12.33, so that 5 days is treated as specified in changeset [trac]changeset:22365[/trac]. IOW, they shouldn't run again unless you quit and restart BOINC sometime more than 5 days from the last run. But there are other things which may cause benchmarks to run, one obvious one being the user clicking the menu entry. Changing some things in preferences may also do so. Joe |

I don't see why they want to run it every 5 days. It isn't like the hardware in my machine changes every 5 days. So I disable benchmarks after the first one. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |
