It's still to early to hit the panic button or board up the windows but most of the initial computer sims put this storm over central Florida by Saturday evening.

From the little I know of storm magnitude...
TS = buy candles batteries and popcorn.. get comfy to ride it out
Cat1: same, you will be wishing you were somewhere else.
Cat2: Might want to consider being somewhere else
Cat3+ Be somewhere else

Does that sound about right?

Yes TS-tropical storm is the lowest level that they alert for. The predictions from the NASA website predict it will be at hurricane strength by the time it gets to Florida. It depends a lot on water temperatures as to how strong it may get. We've already had a lot of wet weather the last few weeks so flooding may be our major concern.

Even for a Cat1 I would be somewhere else.

For TS and higher, make certain that all loose items are inside where they will not be turned into missiles. Make certain that if you are on a boat, you are somewhere else. Make certain that you are someplace above where the tidal surge is going to be (your beach house that is 1 feet above high tide might not be a good place).

If it does hit Florida, I hope it comes to stay North of Atlanta as the region is having a drought...
