Thanks Uli,
I am tempted to ask how many books I have but I really don't want to count them. I know I have over 2,000 law books, a probably as many other books. I sort of like the how many miles questions. So here's my question. I have two children. both go to school in towns near the ocean. One goes to school west of our home and one south. How many miles is a round trip from home to school 1 then 2 then back home. This should be fun.

Any chance of knowing their ages?

Don't know how that will help but sure. 11 and 9.

If they were say 19 and 23, the likely range would be a bit higher.

I am going to guess 45 miles round trip.

Do they go to public or private schools?
edit:
A child may have to travel further to a private school.

Three guesses so far: (All too low)
James 30
John 35
Chris 48

And one question, are they in private or public school. The schools they are in are public but they are charter schools, so it's really something of a hybrid.

Here is a suggestion. Try Google maps. I live in the Santa Ynez valley, which I thought was revealed here several times. I gave clues about the school's location.

65 miles, that's at least one hour twenty minutes on the road.

OK, Based on the layout of the area, I am going to change my guess to 100 miles. (and I hope you can split driving on most days).

We have a winner.
The city to the west is Lompoc.
The city to the south is Goleta/Santa Barbara.
Total round trip is 99.8 miles.

So John your within 2 tenths. Fortunately, they only go to school two days a week. Still, that's 200 miles each day they are in school.

Please post your next question in a new thread per Uli's request.
