Thank you once again for being the statmaster, Michael. No secrets here about my visiting. I use Utopia, Autoclicks, and Hydra. Utopia is always running on my daily driver, and visits all the links available any time my IP changes. Autoclicks is a once a day thingy, unless I get behind. Then I may have to run it a few extra times to get up to the 6 day limit on stored visiting runs. You can only do it once a day unless you are able to change your IP. Hydra is the main visitor. It also is running 24/7 here. I make 2,950 visits per day, and have my received visits set at unlimited. I can accept as many visits as the other participants make unless I run out of credits. In order to make all my visits, I have to change my IP from about 8 to 30 times, depending on how many links are available per IP pass. This can be from 400 or so down to 100 or less...at which point I usually contact Vandhall to reset things. To change my IP, I go into the GUI for my router, which is also always open in a window, and click disconnect, wait 10-12 seconds, and then connect. This usually gets me a new IP addy, although sometimes I get the same one and have to repeat the process. Making all my visits usually takes me an hour or more when I get home from work each night. So, you can see, it does take a bit of effort and time to do what I do. It's not automated. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster

Thanks for those details, Mark. These stats are prepared semi-automatically. One little perl script reads the xml data from each city and stores it. That is normally started by a cron job on my linux box, shortly after the nominal time of each report, but I can also run it by hand if necessary, also on my laptop if I am travelling. I run a second script to calculate the presentation of the statistics. It does a linear interpolation between the nearest enclosing measurements (normally very close to the most recent measurement).
