Watching it now. Yes, very beautifully filmed, but they could've done without the Liberal/Progressive viewpoint in the narration.

The Atomic Cafe
Some of the nonsense propagated on the population back then was amazing.
I'm old enough to still remember the drills in school and the air raid sirens being tested.

Watched that one earllier, Robert. I, too am old enough to remember those 'drills', having been born around Eisenhower's time.

I guess they could have done it that way.
Of course, it wouldn't be a wake-up call to humanity from the conservative/regressive perspective. It would be just another "business as usual" industrial infommercial.

LOL... That stuff scared the hell out of me back then.
I had nightmares about mushroom clouds over Vancouver.

With me, it was over the Hartford, CT. area. I also remember hearing the sonic booms (occasional) and thinking they were 'the bomb' (shows ya how young I was at that time).

I remember we had to wear dog tags when I was in 1st and 2nd grade.
Yep, honest to goodness, army-type dog tags.

I too, remember the sonic booms. However, where I lived it was frequent.

In retrospect; Duck & Cover. What a joke.

I've had no luck finding the complete versions of Harold and Maude and Wizards.
While I don't think I've ever seen H&M I did see Wizards in the theatre when it came out.
I quite enjoyed it, so if I find the film somewhere later I will create a link to it.

I'm also having trouble finding another favorite of mine... Quest for Fire.
Who doesn't appreciate a good caveman movie?

I just tore through our movie collection thinking that we must have a copy of Harold and Maude someplace. Alas, I could not find it. I did, however, find all sorts of stupid movies that I never want to see again. Hot Tub Time Machine, anyone?

Are there any good used record/cd/video stores in Berkeley?
You might be able to sell them, or trade for something you'll enjoy watching several times

This is one I have been waiting for somebody to post on youtube for a long time.

Very good....poses a few good questions about our legal system. And the morals of those who enforce it.

Please consider watching it.

I have not tracked through the whole thing yet, so I hope none of the pieces are missing. But I intend to for sure.

A good performance by Michael Douglas.
And also Hal Holbrook, who has been ailing since a fractured hip and is not current able to do his 'Mark Twain Tonight' performances.
