Tried to search for this but couldn't find the right words to use. Install win 7 on a new computer. Using a nvidia 460. It is only using the gpu. [The status shows: 0.04 CPUs + 1.00 nvivia GPUs] Remember there is a way to edit the file to make it use the cpu for MBs and Astopulse work units. Need to know how to fix this. Thanks for any help |

I should be fixed now Boinc has asked for CPU work and got it ;-) (5 minutes before you posted, you only had GPU work) Claggy |

Do you mean BOINC has downloaded work & isn't processing it, that it isn't downloading work, that you need help with the app_info.xml for the opt apps, or are you looking for the CC_Config.xml options like <no_gpus>n</no_gpus> & <no_cpus>n</no_cpus> ? Alls is well. Got ahead of myself. Doing exactly what my other windows 7 is doing. There is a number to change in the app_info file but dont have the print-out of it. Probably dont need it now Thanks bj |

Tried to search for this but couldn't find the right words to use. Locally, you can do this by (in Advanced view in Boinc Manager) going to Advanced -> Preferences, then in Processor Usage tab, near the bottom, put in nn percent of CPUs to be used (for example, I have an 8 core system where I specify 87.5% so as to use 7 cores for SETI. Also, make sure you check "While Computer is in Use" and set "While processor usage is less then" to 0 so it will be used at all times. Also, in your account on SETI, make sure you specify which apps you want to run. Good luck! |

Alls is well. Is it the <flops> entry? SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

[Is it the <flops> entry?
No. Think going from 1.0 to .5 or close to that. Cant be exact. not on a windows 7 computer right now. bj |

[Is it the <flops> entry? I take that you mean to run 2 w/u's at a time on the video card, in your app_info change all <type>CUDA</type> <count>1</count> entries to <type>CUDA</type> <count>.5</count> for 2 w/u's. Cheers. |

Just to add a bit to what Wiggo said, there should be 6 instances of the count if you are running W-7 64bit. If it's the 32bit flavor then there are only 3 that you have to change. If you want to try three work units at a time then you want to change the 1 to .33. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
