I think the issue is that it wasn't dumbed down enough for those that don't understand the precise meanings of the tax and accounting lingo that was used. Then again that came from the Tax Policy people and not the reporter.

This was reported by Jeanne Sahadi of CNN. The reporter does have a responsibility to take the information provided/obtained and express that in a concise yet clear way. Doing a little translation for intelligent people who do not specialize in the areas contained within finance is not dumbing down.

I would like to not have almost half the country using services, but not paying anything. I don't think that's an unreasonable position, but that's where we are today, like it or not.

You can rationalize and redefine FICA, payroll, and play all sorts of games with definitions on what is and isn't a tax. At the end of the day, half the friggin country are moochers (that want more and more) and it's financially bankrupting us and leaving the bill to the next generation.

There's GENERATIONAL THEFT going on here and I find nothing ironic about it. It absolutely angers me that I work hard to keep my financial life in order and have a bunch of politicians working against that very basic quality. Is this rocket science? Do you think this won't end very very badly?

That 47% apparently includes General Electric.
