Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado!!!

OK, you are the winner.

BTW, what did you have to threaten everyone else with to get them to not participate in this round?

That picture was darn hard to place, buddy! Was it from your personal collection?

People may well have been participating, but coming up with blanks. Nice find.

I shall search for a picture now.

MMM, I think I have seen that before. Hopefully it is not what one of the Gabor sisters broke.

Was made in Japan?

You HAVE seen it before. Fortunately this particular piece was not broken by the Gabor sisters. I have tucked it away for now until the Gabor sisters learn to behave themselves.

It was not made in Japan.

John, your answers to questions 1-4 are correct. This plate from my collection is an example of "Chinese Export Pottery". Because there are people on alternate panels, it is an example of true "Rose Medallion". It was made in China. Plates with no markings on the back were produced before 1850 and are considered to be "best quality" in this category. Plates made after 1891 are marked "China" on the back and plates made after 1920 are marked "Made in China".

Your answer to question number 5 is incorrect. This gives somebody a chance to steal your win, correct?

OK, another attempt at #5.

The pattern was designed for European tastes and not Chinese tastes.

Close enough!

Most people in China circa 1850 would have considered that plate to be in VERY BAD TASTE!!!

Congratulations John, you have won again!
