Could be in the Sierras in California - I've seen similar abandoned rail bridges and logging flumes hiking around Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Don't get up that way much anymore.

Appearances to the contrary, is this at trolley-car bridge (aka streetcar) - they used canvas because they were light duty and not freight haulers.
