How about rusty cliffy rocks somewhere within Zion National Park in Utah? Its difficult to buy beer in Utah so fire-fighting is tough ... .

Could also be a hike in British Columbia, with the bonus that in BC you can be pretty much guaranteed of being the target of a water bomber putting out forest fires these days.

Zion is in the wrong state. BC is in the wrong country.
