We gave into tossing the keys into a pot before the party started years ago.....
By the time we were souses, the pot was frozen into a block of ice, and nobody was goin' anywhere, my lad.

A few tried to get their keys outta the frozen locker, but upon dorpping the lto upon their toes, swiftly gave up upon the idea.

It still gives me grief, 30 years later.

It was still on the roof of the impounded car the next morning.

52 weeks ago I was happy and content.
50 weeks ago she left and I never got a proper explanation.
The last 4 weeks our jobs have meant we were working together.
Yesterday we started to talk, past politeness, and I made her laugh.

The grey-haired old sailor dons his Chaplain's Cap, drops a handful of gold-colored Presidents in the cigar box, accepts a shot of Single-Malt from Mike, and steps to the line.

Since 1 March I have participated in 7 funerals or memorials, and sent 2 "Final Orders" and 2 "Eternal Patrol" Certificates to the families of Shipmates who passed where I could not attend their services. There are two Shipmates and one Shipmate's wife whom we are watching prepare for departure.

To all our Departed Shipmates and Comrades: You may stand relieved - We have the Watch.
