The correct spelling is loonie and toonie. And the loonie just hit a 5 year high. Or the greenback just hit a five year low, depending on your point of view.

I think the toonie should be called a "doubloon".
We have some of them old Centennial Dollars, even the ones with the "1867" - "1967" dates on them.
