I noticed that when trying for a friend to join my team, there seems to be some kind of weird glitch in the system... no "join" button or link displays on the team page. :-( First of all I forgot to check the box that allows new members, which is off by default. But that was easily found and resolved. But to no avail. I tried several things, including changing team settings and clearing cookies, but no luck. Then I switched browser from Firefox to MSIE. I immediately noticed that the language wasn't English (using an English Windows and English Firefox but have non-English settings in Windows' Regional and language options. Maybe this has nothing to do with it, but when bug-hunting every detail helps ;) To make a long story short, with MSIE the join option was available. I checked the source-code from Firefox, and no "join" was found. So the problem is on the server-side (e.g. Seti's web site). Since logging into the account worked fine and I tried clearing cookies, the only suggestion I can make is that it has something to do with the HTTP_USER_AGENT (mine is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)". Hope that helps. Seems a rare-occurring bug to me. jacQues |
