I've noticed that some of my WU's are still showing in my "tasks" list, even though they were validated a week or more ago. (for example WU # 617028214, reported by me on 5/27, reported by my wingman 5/26...) I thought that these were supposed to be deleted 24 hours (or so) after validation...

Validation doesn't directly trigger deletions, it's assimilation of the canonical result which should trigger immediate file deletion and the delayed purge of database entries. Unfortunately it's impossible for users to see how much of that sequence has taken place.
