Message 988273 - Posted: 11 Apr 2010, 5:32:12 UTC - in response to Message 988269.

Downloaded and installed it after I read this string (all of it); seems to be working OK (for me, so far).

LOL. Don't count on it. They don't call it "minefield" for nothin'. :)

Last 2 days worth of builds gave me the crash reporter when I clicked a video in YT.

Are you getting translucency?

Yes, I am. I edited my original post just before you posted.

Must be Mac-only at this point. Translucency had problems displaying a number of webpages earlier on when it was first implemented.

My 3 PC's (XP, Vista, 7) don't have any sign of it. Say, mind trying it out on your laptop and see what happens? :)

Basically, I'm still learning how to use the Mac, since I've never used one before I got this one.

Don't get to attached to a Mac.

One of the coolest features about using a Mac is that it's really easy to shutdown. All you have to be doing is be using a program... and then poof! It goes away... its gone... it's shutdown. You didn't push any buttons, you didn't close, hell, you didn't even save. It's just gone.

Haven't had that problem (yet, fortunately).

I have never had that problem since I went to OS X builds.

Now Mac OS 9 and down on the other hand was a whole different ball of wax.

It might have not been translucency that I saw, it was just the aero affect on the Windows machine that I turned on for a moment.

I will check out the default theme on the iMac here in a bit.

[edit]No translucency on Mac, I think Mike just has one of the Person's installed.

Now if only Person's would work with other themes!!!!

Most of the Persona's I find are ugly - there's a few nice ones, but they either obscure the text or they're too distracting.

Roadmap Summary for Firefox, MozDev Previews, Minefield & Gecko Layout Engine

Minefield 3.7a5pre 20100411 is the latest bleeding edge nightly build. Since a4pre was updated a few days ago to a5pre, that implies developer preview will go alpha 4 today or tomorrow.
Minefield builds are ALWAYS the latest releases, ergo, once the alphas for 3.7 are done, Minefield will go to 4.0a1pre. Download it here. --!-- This is the TRUNK release --!--

Mozilla Developer Preview 3.7 alpha 3 is the latest Firefox 3.7 build. Since Minefield a5pre is out, MozDev Preview 3.7 Alpha 4 will be released today or tommorow (goal 12/4/2010). This is the product that will eventually mature into Firefox 3.7. Download it here. --!-- This is a BRANCH release --!--

Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 is the latest main release of Firefox. Download it here. --!-- This is a BRANCH release --!--

Keep up to date with the latest Mozilla Build information here:
Mozillazine Forums

--- YES. You can have all 3 builds on your system at once - but you cannot have them running simultaneously. ---

New 3.7a5pre Graphical Tab Interface

I am running Gradient iCool on my iMac and Crystalfox Qute on my PC's, I hate the default themes too much.

I *sometimes* use AeroFox on Firefox 3.6 when I get bored of the normal theme, but I just stick to stock usually.

Crystalfox Qute is actually quite nice...

I just found out that the developer of Crystalfox Qute fixed the long standing issue of the original Qute where the scrollbars would not display on the Mac.

So not all my machines are running Crystalfox Qute.

Funny thing is the original and a modded version still do not work with Mac but do with Linux and Windows.
