i am getting no work for gpu
geforce gts 250
i have gpu enable on pref on seti site

Does BOINC recognise your GPU? You can see that in the Messages tab after a reboot.

You are attached to many projects - some of them may need the GPU at the moment.

well i install a new card. mention above. after finishing all wu for seti before i installed the card. i have done that update. also i have not gotten any since Wednesday when i got the card

It is hard to help people with computers hidden (you can "see" my computers by clicking on my "name" BilBg to the left of this post)
You did NOT done that:
On Projects tab, select SETI@home and press Update button

it was public last time i check. that would be a forum bug popping up. i have always had it public.
anyhow it was a bad upgrade that was the issue.

the version 603 tasks are for CPU
the version 609 tasks are for GPU
So it is obvious that you now (at the moment you copied this messages) have work for both CPU & GPU
