I am needing some "adult supervision" so that I can: 1)add a picture to my messages in the from box 2)and specific, in layman's language, how to insert a status box with my signature. If anyone would be so kind as to instruct me how to achieve the items so that they will automatically appear when I respond or write a message. Thanks in advance, JRS3 @ johnsain3@sbcglobal.net |

OK- First go to your account and get the number down at the bottom of the page that says- account # used in URL's Then go here: http://boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/register.php?PHPSESSID=c56e5dd140cdef26ded48eeea42f3ff3 and register with the # above and your Email address. Once an account is set up you can choose how you want the sig to look and get the piece of code to copy into your forum preferences page. The avatar ( why it's called that?) is any 100x100px jpg image that's on your drive that you can upload on the forum preferences page. |

Thanks I noticed on your message, a placeholder was present after your setiboinc sig box. BTW, if you select "open in a new link or tab" on your forum preferences page, your second signature box or graphic will only show as a placeholder. For multiple boxes to show, this must be unchecked. Also, if you insert a space bar click between your img " " img you will be able to add a space between your boxes. And finally, if you insert a CR at the beginning or before your img, your sig boxes will move down one line and be separated from your message text. Hope it helps, JRS3 |

> > > The avatar ( why it's called that?) 1. Among people working on virtual reality and cyberspace interfaces, an "avatar" is an icon or representation of a user in a shared virtual reality. The term is sometimes used on MUDs. 2. [CMU, Tektronix] root, superuser. There are quite a few Unix machines on which the name of the superuser account is `avatar' rather than `root'. This quirk was originated by a CMU hacker who found the terms `root' and `superuser' unimaginative, and thought `avatar' might better impress people with the responsibility they were accepting. |
