Why can't this version support the screen saver? I miss it. With 8 cores I can afford the over head. |

Core Duo Macs - For Apple computers with Coreduo Processors and 10.4+ - With AP v5.06 r237 32-bit What do you recommend for Core2 Duo iMacs running “Tiger†(v10.4.x)? They seem to fall between the above two packages. P.S. I too miss the screensaver; I have it set to go black after a minute, so its effect on processing time is minimal anyway. IIRC before Multibeam came out, Alex Kan’s team provided versions of his optimized apps that included the graphics, but they were omitted from all his latest builds, which practice the Lunatics team have continued. |

Core Duo Macs - For Apple computers with Coreduo Processors and 10.4+ - With AP v5.06 r237 32-bit For you, you might have to do a patch install and put in the 32-bit build. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;sa=dlview;id=239 I tried to do the most common denominator method as most C2D are running at least 10.5. The only change is the optimized AP app in the package. |

Optimized apps are just that Optimized. using the screensaver just isn't efficient. thus they dont use it on the 3rd party apps. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. I miss the screen saver as well. That's why I liked Crunch3r's builds, he had the option of screen saver or no screen saver. Even though Crunch3r's last builds weren't as fast as the current release from Alex Kan, I keep them on my server just to offer a choice. |
