I am a brand new SETI @ home user I have a general question what does it mean when the BOINC manager window for this program says "no work available to process"?

Your timing was bad as you joined us on the server maintenance day (every Tuesday). If you haven't received any work by tomorrow, please post the first 15-20 lines of the messages log and last 10 lines, and we'll try to figure this out.

It means exactly what is says.

Either, for some reason there's no input (lack of data from Arecibo, some data processing server offline) or the work is downloaded faster than it can be produced (which happens mostly after the weekly maintenance outage, as today).

In effect, there's "no work available to process" for our hosts at the moment. Try again later :-)

Servers are down. We dont know, when they are online again.

If you want to run your boinc and seti is down, as it is now, then just pick out a prooject and start working it. you can always tell it no new tasks when seti gets back to work
