WU 555708839 is shown on my tasks list as being in progress but it does not appear on my task list in BoincTasks (or BOINC Manager).

This is a bit annoying for me, more annoying for the user who completed this task on 13 Jan and will obviously not get their credit for the work done until someone else completes it.

How can I get this WU re-sent?

Edit: Just noticed that this is a v6.09 (cuda23) task. As I've got an ATI GPU I'm guessing that it won't run on my PC so no point in resending!

So your wingman ran it as a 6.09? this doesnt matter since Seti can assign you the WU using 6.03 5.28 or other app. Now if you don't have it onboard your PC then most likely its a ghost WU and will disappear eventually off your list.

I see you only have one more WU for SETI on your machine. You could set seti to no new tasks, run it out and then do a detach/reattach to seti to clear it if you really want to get it off your list. Since you are not running an opt-app this should not cause any undo problems. The WU status will change to client detached and will be reissued to another cruncher.

Have turned off new tasks, will detatch/reattach when current task is complete in 2½ hrs.

Detached & reattached - all fine, credits loaded, ghost exorcised.

Discovered that I had to detach from Grid Republic first, otherwise Detach was greyed out in BOINC Manager.

You could have detached using GridRepublic (that's an account manager), but since you succeeded anyway... :-)

I wouldn't really worry about ghosts. Detaching from the system just to release them seems like blowing up your house just to allow guests in the front door.

The existing system with deadlines is in place to take care of issues like this. It's not really a big deal if they time out and get re-issued.
