I did not get the screen saver... also, what do I do to get going on this incredible search, or rather get going on projects? What if I don't use my puter that much and can handle more projects?

Do we get to know if our machines have picked up any little tidbits?

Please be patient with my stupid questions........... someday I may be able to answer noob questions?????

You don't need a screensaver. BOINC runs in the background and the occasional screensaver (provided by the projects) is only eye candy.

If you install the BOINC software (see the SETI homepage) and run it for the first time, the "Attach to projects wizard" will pop up. There you can choose SETI (or any other project) from a list and attach. After that, everything works on its own, even the screensaver, if you chose to install it earlier.

A nice site to answer all kind of BOINC-related questions is the BOINC FAQ Service.

For questions about SETI, see the ABOUT link at the top (and bottom) of this page. If any specific questions remain, you are welcome to ask them here.

Gruß,
Gundolf
