I know that there is probably a thread here somewhere that explains about ‘Uploading’ and ‘Ready to report’ in nice easy terms but I can’t find it. I guess what I don’t really understand is when a WU finishes it uploads (assuming a permanent Internet connection) but the credit for that WU is not pending until Boinc needs more WU’s or you manually do a project update (clearing all of your WU’s that are ‘Ready to report’). If basically everything were done at the ‘Upload’ stage (claiming the credit etc) everyone’s credit would go up more evenly rather than only when they download more WU’s. Anthony |

It is also discussed in my documentation ... :) But the simple explanation is that the process is a two stage process. In stage one the results of the calculation, the result data file, is uploaded first. In this stage you will see the file in the transfers tab and with the uploading status. Once that is done, the WU is now in the "Ready to Report" status. As soon as you contact a scheduler for the project your completed WU are reported and the work tab is cleared. |

> It is also discussed in my documentation ... :) Paul I have had a look through your site but I couldn't find it, so if you would be so good as to put a link to the relevant page I would be greatful. Anthony |
