It's hard to keep up with all Topics and all threads within them, it would be great to have a local button "Mark all threads as read" at the Topic level. So, for instance, I could mark all threads as read within "Number Crunching" when I finish reading what I want to there without having an impact on any unread messages within other topics.

Also, I would like to see a topical indicator for unread messages. The message forum s/w already keeps track of unread messages at the thread level, just put a indicator at the topic level so a user can see what threads have new messages he hasn't read. Something visible at the main topic pages like Q & A or the Forum index page.

I hope this makes sense to somebody...

Editing again. The bold text replaces 'threads' in my original message.

I understand the Last Post column is supposed to be a clue, but does anyone really remember if they looked at a topic 15 mins ago or was it 30 mins ago? or yesterday sometime??

I would have assumed the last post Time would have been a decent indicator
