One of my machines had a graphics card brain fart, and errored out on about 280 GPU tasks last night. I rebooted, and the problem went away. Now, when I check out the machine's preferences, it says only allowed 1 Task per CPU/day, rather than the normal 100.

1) when (and what's the algorthm) will it recover back to 100/CPU/day?
2) Is there anything I can do about this (in terms of manually resetting the tasks/day)?

When you start to report successfully completed WUs, your allowance will automagically rise.

I knew that - what I wanted to know is, how fast? That is, when will my 100/day/CPU be fully restored. assuming no further major error parties?
Thanks,
Jon

I think if you sent 7 "good" wus you are back at default. (or is it 7 times a "good" wu ?)

That seems correct - I just looked and I am back to 100/day/CPU. So just rebooting and finishing 9 WUs completely restored me. And my machine immediately d/l about 90 WUs...Great! - I had been afraid it might take 7 days to restore, but I was wrong....

Faster than a speeding cruncher.......LOL.

Honestly......you should get as much work as you need. It heals very quickly.

The current algorithm is to double the quota for every error free results returned up to the daily max. An argument has been made to the Boinc dev that this should be changed from x2 to +2 as a disincentive to task cherry picking and a greater limit on intermittently error prone systems (overclocking on the edge).

EDIT: The only disavantage is that it would take a little longer to recover from incidents like this, but not by much.
