Depends on your budget and what you want to accept for power consumption....
An OC'd 920 and a single GTX295 make a very fine cruncher.

When you OC a 920 how much extra power does it use? Say you OC'ed it to 3.33GHZ same as a extreme ed 975 would it use 130W or less in power? How much more heat would it add to the CPU and how much quicker would it wear the CPU out? One more question the 975 says it uses 130W how long will it take to use up 130W?

The last question is kinda like asking how long will it take a 230 horse power engine to use 230 horse power. Watts are an estimate of power consumption. If a 130W CPU is running at 100% it will use 130 Watt-hours in an hour. If it runs for 24 hours it uses 3120 watt-hours of energy or 3.12 Kilowatt-hours of energy.

Or you can convert it to Joules of energy used. One watt uses one joule of energy per second. A 130 Watt CPU at 100% will use 130 joules per second or 468 Kilojoule-hours in an hour.

It's like converting kwh into cubic dollars actually.
And CPUs don't wear out.
I have yet to kill one.
As I posted elsewhere, my original Core2 duo is still cranking them out after all this time.
Came close on the Frozen Nehi, but that was due to the freezing approach causing condensation and some corrosion on the backside of the chip....got lucky and reseated it in the socket to regain contact with the lands. Won't get lucky again....if it ever leaves the socket again, it's a goner.
