Today the Paris-Nice bicycle race has started and on March 22 we should have the Milano-SanRemo, which used to be run on March 19 when that day was a holiday.

I can't see that on TV here so I will have to do with this.

I remember a funny american movie decades ago where the character become very interested in cykling. So much that between his tours he began to listen to opera, always eating pasta and shaved his legs:)
One day he met some proffesional riders and he wanted to join in.
However one of the riders stuck his bicycle pump in the guy's bike wheel.
That was the end of his career.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen:

1 Lindsey Vonn
2 Tina Maze
3 Anna Fenninger

Tina gains 20 points over Anna, and has 44 more. Next week Slalom at Are.

Daniela Merighetti has broken her fibula in the test runs.

Way to go Lindsey! I guess she's all the way back!

In the overall World Cup, it is now 1285 - 1241 to Tina Maze of Anna Fenninger when the World Cup finals in Meribel on 18-22 March is approaching.

Way to go, Tina:)

She has a slalom that Anna won't run in Are. It is up to her. Lindsey raced beautifully today.

Yes. But Lindsey sometimes are very on the edge to what's possibly according to Anja Pärsson. Not today however.

According to Italian TV commentators, one of them a former member of the Valanga Azzurra of Thoeni, Gros, Schmalz and Co, Anna Fenninger is the best skier of the three top women and I tend to agree.

Gustavo Thöni and Piero Gros. Great Italian skiers and I remember them from the "Stenmark" era in the 70's.
We have sometimes Anja Pärsson and Pernilla Wiberg as TV commentators
I Think they agree with that Tina Maze, Anna Fenniger and Lindsey Vonn are so great skiers that say who is the best is almost impossible.

I shall be watching it after 2 PM on Channel 57 of RAI TV. A pity that Tom Boonen has fallen and broken the collar bone, as cyclists always do.

Who can beat Kristoff?
If his start to the season is any indication of things to expect on today's stage between Zoo de Beauval - Saint Aignan and Saint-Amand-Montrond, Alexander Kristoff (KAT) will be hard to beat.

Dieter Greifels. Tomorrow is the start of Tirreno-Adriatico, which crosses the Appennini mountain range.

50th Tirreno-Adriatico start list seems impressive.

Dieter Greifels? Don't you mean André Greipel who won the stage today in Paris-Nice?

Tullio.
How's weather in Italy?
Here it has been very warm and sunny.
In Stockholm there are cherrytrees in bloom already and 18C.
Springtime in early March. Normally it happens in late April.
