Message 1970544 - Posted: 15 Dec 2018, 21:56:31 UTC - in response to Message 1970512.

Italian media reported Gisin had suffered a fracture of the pelvis (bacino in italian) but no head injuries.
What happened was first that his right ski back end hit some rough ground.
Then his left ski came under the right ski so his skis became crossed which means you fall of course.
It happens both to pros and amateurs like me:)
But as Kjetil Jansrud said "Is there one place you should fall it's not there".
Anyway. My guess is that Gisin is out of competition for now.

He wore no airbag, which is worn also by Lindsey Vonn and 45% of World Cup skiers.

So do I.
Marc Gisin didn't have one but was "lucky" that his crash didn't caused him more injuries.
The newspaper Blick writes that he broke several ribs on the right side, had damage to the lung and on the pelvis. In addition, he has also had a concussion.

Oops. That was a surprise.
First Kristoffersen who was second after first run, out after 3 gates.
Then Hircher who was first, out after 5 gates.
That doesn't happen often!
