Since my old Nokia cell phone died, I needed a new phone. After a failed attempt to buy a Samsung S9 with Android 8 from Telecom Italia, I bought from Amazon a much cheaper Ulefone with ARM64 CPU and Android 7.1.1.. I downloaded BOINC from the Google Playstore and installed both SETI@home and Einstein@home on it. I am curious to see what its 8 core CPU can do. SETI sees also an OpenCL Mali G71 GPU while Einstein does not see it, for reasons unknown.

Cheap wine can be significantly more expensive
Global wine production was hit hard by last year's extreme weather. Total harvest fell to the lowest levels of 60 years and now cheap wines can be significantly more expensive.
Last year's deficit caused wholesale prices for simple wines to rise by 74 percent in Italy, by 45 percent in Spain and by over 10 percent in France according to the European Commission.

Checking the prices for Pinot Grigio in Sweden...
Hmm...
Lenotti, Pinot Grigio della Venezie 2016 144 kr. That's about 14 Euros.
Zenato, Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie 119 kr or 11 Euros.
And those prices have not been adjusted yet but will be this autumn.
Looks like I have to revise my budget...

Strage di alpinisti nel Vallese. This is a title in the Swiss Italian TV on the death of six alpine skiers and the blessing of five more on the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route at 3000 meters height. It seems that they did not succeed in reaching an Alpine hut and had to spend the night outside with -5 temperature and wind, which probably caused the deaths, including a Swiss guide who was leading them. But Bonatti and his Hunza companion had survived a night at 8000 meters height and -30 C. How is this possible? The survivors of the 14 people group were saved by helicopters.

I think beeing exposed to wind is more dangerous than exposed to the actual low temperature in the air.
Same problem if it's at 3000 meters or 8000 meters.
Or at 0 meters for that matter.
Been there, done that... -25 C is not funny for about 2 weeks in Stockholm...

The "bora" wind in Trieste can reach 160 km/h but it is not a cold wind because it warms up by falling. If, rarely, it gets below zero it is called "bora scura" as opposed to "bora chiara". Then it can be dangerous. I miss bora here in Milano.

So you're saying that you get a stiff wind now and again?

Cheers.

Hmm... I was thinking of going sailing in the Croatian archipelago that is not so far from Trieste.
Now, maybe not:) But perhaps the bora only occur on winters.

No, bora occurs also in summer My brother sailed in the Croatia archipelago, and also on big ships. There are many islands and you must take care. Open sea is better.

I have sailed a lot in small boats in the Stockholm archipelago.
Thousands of islands here:)
You could always find a safe harbour in an island.
In open sea? Nope!
Even that we don't have those windy weather here I wouldn't set sail when it's more than 20 m/s (about 70 km/h)
In a race we did once one boat's mast snapped when the average windspeed was 17 m/s!

I am no sailor. But I like the sound of bora in a pine trees wood. It is like a music. "La pioggia nel pineto" by Gabriele D'Annunzio is probably the best Italian poem of the XX Century.

Ouch!
Chris Froome encountered the first setback in his bid for the Giro d'Italia title before the race had even begun, as the Team Sky rider crashed while carrying out a recon of the opening-day time trial course on Friday.

SourceFinder, an astronomy project using VirtualBox, has closed shop. They are going the way of cloud computing, like IBMGrid has done. The way of all BOINC projects.
