Vuelta
Russian rider Maxsim Belkow pushed into the ditch by a bystander! Why?

Belkov said this after the incident.
"Through the Vuelta organizers I have received more details from the Guardia Civil about the incident that occurred yesterday on the Puerto del Torcal when a fan pushed me into the ditch,” Belkov's statement read. “Apparently the man suffers from a mental disability. For me, this is more than enough reason not to undertake any further action against him.”

Sadly audience participation is quite common in the mountain stages of the Giro's.

Heavy rain on the qualification trials in Monza. They are started and soon stopped. Cars have a dry race setup, since tomorrow should be a dry day, so pilots are taking risks.

As always in this Vuelta this time to Sierra Nevada...
Froome extends his advantage to 1:01 over Nibali, whose attack on the final climb came to nothing.

Vuelta today.
Froome still in Red...
Perhaps Nibali, 01:16 behind, could change that but I doubt that.

Guess who is still in Red after today?
Chris Froome (Sky) moves a day closer to completing the Tour-Vuelta double. He needs to stay within 1:37 of Vincenzo Nibali on the Angliru tomorrow and the race is his. "For us today, and for me certainly, it was about saving as much energy as possible and get through the day without any big issues. I’m quite happy to put today behind us, and we’re just focusing everything on tomorrow now," Froome says. "Of course it’s extremely hard climb the Angliru. I don’t think it’s just going to be on the final tomorrow, it’s a very short stage - 117km - we could see fireworks from the start tomorrow and there are some other tough climbs before the Angliru."

Are there any more SUN workstations around any more?
Well second hand parts of course that you might could buy.
My SPARC 1 had a funeral around year 2000 i think...

I had though of buying a new machine this year with the Ryzen. Then I bought a robot lawn cutter, a Samsung Gear Frontier watch and then the washing machine broke after 30 years, so I had to buy a new one.So I am using the SUN AM20 workstation with its GTX 750 Ti board.

Nice ending of Contador's career to win his last pro race.
Now Froome only have to do the "lap of honor".

Cycling is boring. All you need is a strong team and a manager who commands your efforts. Bartali, Anquetil, Hinault, Merckx would be out of this. Next Giro will start in Tel Aviv, in honour of Bartali who is a "just among nations". He used to bike from Florence to Assisi and carry false documents in the bike's tubes to help save Jews. He would have been shot had the Nazi found the documents.

There is a bicycle World Championship going on in Bergen, Norway. I shall certainly watch the time race for men on Wednesday, with Chris Froome competing. Yesterday he was only second with his Sky Team in the time team race, after a Dutch team.
From TV I learned that the Giro 2018 will start not in Tel Aviv but in Jerusalem with a 10 km time race. The second stage will go from Haifa to Tel Aviv.
