I wonder why Mikaela Schiffrin doesn't compete in Alpine Combined. Anyway. Ana Busic started at 30th position and finished 3'rd before Lyndsey Vonn! |

Mikaela aims at the Olympic Games. Like Lindsey says, they are the only competition which gets the American attention, other races are ignored by the American media. |

True. But Lyndsey Vonn does even I think that's a bad move. She's not getting younger and it's her last Olympic Game and getting injuried before the Games open... Perhaps she want to beat Ingemar Stenmark after all. Only 7 WC victories to go to Stenmark's 86 . |

Yes. Positive snow control for the City Event in Stockholm (SWE) on Tuesday. Well Hammarbybacken is the only place in Stockholm that have snow. Been at the summit at 93.5 meter :) View 1953 View today |

Johannes Oesflot Klaebo wins the men race, Lauren van der Graaf the ladies. Italian TV cuts short and Swiss TV does not list the results so I may make some mistake in the names. Tomorrow the Marcialonga starts from Moena in Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa. My Dolomiti. |

His name is Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. Hehe:) To us Swedes that name sounds very funny. And Norwegians always speak like they are very happy even when they are sad:) The best sprinter is however Federico Pellegrino but today he only came fourth behind Calle Halfvarsson, Sweden Marcialonga. Here anyone can participate and have fun. To English readers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcialonga Here we have Vasaloppet but that is not until the first Sunday in March. Hmm. The last six years of Marcialonga, Norway came first... |

Once I wrote a book called "Esperimenti con i grandi scienziati". It was a book for children, with many illustrations. Unfortunately, I have given Mondadori the right to its foreign editions, and it was translated in 7 languages. I have only the Norwegian edition. My son found a copy of the Italian edition on a bookseller stand, and gave it to his children, who appreciated it very much and used it for their school papers. When my grandchild Rebecca was asked by her teacher if she knew any scientist, she answered " I know Einstein". She was 8 years old. How do you know Einstein?, the teacher asked. My grandpa has written a book on him, was the answer of Rebecca. Tullio |

I have seen once the Marcialonga crossing Pozza di Fassa. I have skied its trail until Mazzin where I crossed the Avisio river and went on to the Rifugio Gardeccia. Happy days! Tullio |

China has Vasaloppet/Marcialonga as well. They call it 瓦è¨æ»‘雪, Vasaloppet. Not The Long Marsch :) And in the US The American Birkebeiner. Last years winner in all categories was "Mother Nature". |

French climber Elisabeth Revol was saved on the Nanga Parbat that she was attempting to scale in winter with a Polish climber who is dead. She was saved by the members of a Polish team which was attempting the winter climb of K2 and were ported in helicopter near Nanga Parbat. K2 has never been climbed in winter, while Nanga Parbat was scaled by Simone Moro and friends, one of them a woman from Sud Tirol. The Poles have renounced to their attempt in order to save a companion, but their were unable to save him. Tullio |

Shriffin out: new boots? No. According to Mikaela she only lost her balance. "Silly Super mistake. But sometimes this happen." she says to SVT. |
