Despite winning Sunday’s uphill sprint to Cherbourg on Sunday, Peter Sagan lamented that many riders at the Tour de France had “lost their brains†and were taking too many risks, especially in the finales of stages. Dimension Data’s Bernhard Eisel, one of the most experienced riders in the race and one of the senators in the peloton, agrees with the world champion, telling Cyclingnews on Monday that the situation "is just getting ridiculous". http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/tour-de-france-fight-for-position-just-getting-ridiculous-says-eisel/ Anyway. General classification after stage 3 # Rider Name (Country) Team Result 1 Peter Sagan (Svk) Tinkoff Team 14:34:36 2 Julian Alaphilippe (Fra) Etixx - Quick-Step 0:00:08 3 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar Team 0:00:10 4 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 0:00:14 |

Tour de France: What are the chances of breakaway success? Ghent University professor develops the winning formula. X = distance at which the peloton should start chasing in kilometres A = time gap between the breakaway group and the peloton in hours p = speed of the peloton in kilometres an hour v = speed of the breakaway group in kilometres an hour c = 10-a a = amount of riders in the breakaway group |

No real changes in the GC. But Cavendish has now one more stage victory in Le Tour than Bernard Hinault. Only Eddie Merckx has more with 34 stage victories. |
