For some reason after I moved one of my GPUs from 2nd slot to 3rd slot (had some problems with overheating due to poor airflow) CUDA won't detect devices unless I run BOINC as root (gksudo or sudo). Tried on versions 6.4.5, 6.6.20 and 6.6.36, all did the same thing (should note 6.6.20 and 6.6.36 kept assigning 2 CUDA units to one GPU, but nothing to the other). Ubuntu 8.10 x64 2.6.27-14-generic (there was a kernel update just before I shutdown, so that is a change from before). It works like this, but really don't like running things as root. Thanks. |

Did you see Message 918988: make sure you have them installed correctly AND your account can use them (when I installed mine they were owned by root and group video, changed group to my account and no problems). Yeah, I posted it. After I rebooted it doesn't work anymore. |
