I have 2 computers running SETI boinc. On one computer Boinc has been idle for nearly 2 days. Messages show no task available. But the other, faster, computer has been running constantly with no idle time. I've tried update and even reset. No joy. S'up? |

There are a multitude of threads now complaining of this very same thing. The servers are having a bad day ...errr couple of day. With any luck they'll be creating a lot of work very soon. If not, do what Seti recommends, get a backup project or 2 so that your system won't sit idling In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

As well as what Skildude says, you can also increase the "additional work buffer" under Advanced / Preferences / Network Usage. It defaults to .25 days, if you increase it to 2 or 3 days then your machine will download a few more work units and not run out when the servers have their planned (or unplanned) outages, hiccups, overloads etc Ian |

One thing you guys forgot to look for, his slower machine is a Pentium-4 and running an AP WU which takes a long time to complete. His faster machine is a Quad and runs through WUs much faster and four at a time. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
