Astropulse is also seti. It is just a new way they are looking for things. It goes into much more depth searching the WU and does take a lot longer than the MBs. (Seti enhanced multibeam) It also pays out a lot better in credits. If 166 hours is the estimate to completion then it should be a bit faster than that. It usually overestimates them for awhile until it figures out how well your machine can do them.

Just a side note, when you do finish that AP you will get instant credit for it as your wingman is waiting for you. It should net you around 1251 credits. :)

I'm new to this version of Seti as well and I didn't know that the AP work units would net you that many credits. Pretty awesome :)

Rowen, just be advised, it sometimes takes awhile to get the credits. Astropulse seems to scare a lot of people off. I mentioned it to Roth because his wingman has already completed the one he is working on. One of yours has been completed by your wingman but the others are still being worked on by the other people. If one of those other people don't complete their side of the deal you will have to wait for it to time out and be done by someone else.

I understand the interest in science projects but its always wise to read about the projects you are attempting to run before you actually start running them. You may as well start your car step out and put it in gear. Asking why it took off on you would be better asked before using it as "how should I start running this thing I have?" just a thought

You're not supposed to do a running start???? How else can I pop my clutch to get it started?

Once all quorum partners have finished returning their results, they remain in the system for only 24 hours, so you only have that long to look at them.

When you click on Tasks for any Host ID under your account, if you clik on the link at the bottom that says "Valid", it will show you all the results returned by you and your quorum partner(s).

Clicking on Invalid will show you all results that do not match, and clicking on Error will show you all the workunits that have errored out for that Host ID.

We must be of the same (or similar) age range; I've known how to do that for quite a while (numerous years) now. (I'm in my mid-50's)

Since you only have 1 Computer running this is fairly easy. Click on the pending list. if you find your WU there you know your wingman hasn't finish or possibly not return a valid result. The fun is in the waiting game
