BTW...The Windows 7 operating system is being picked up as
"Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Edition, (06.01.7000.00)" on the OPERATING SYSTEM field of the "Your Computers" page. Build 7000 should indicate Windows 7 if you want to be ahead of the curve on this...............

My Windows 7 machine is identified correctly by BOINC 6.6.2:
"Microsoft Windows 7 x86 Editon, (06.01.7000.00)"

On my laptop is just lists it as Microsoft x86 Editon, (06.01.7000.00).

I don't mind though.

Finally got Win7 installed on seperate partition. Only problem is that the motherboard support cd is refusing to install drivers - it states that it does not support win 6.1 MCE. Anyone have ideas on how to get drivers installed on this?

Mobo is Asus M3N78 Pro AM2+

Try Windows update first, I did see that mentioned that was the primary source of drivers for Windows 7 Beta.

Claggy

Edit: as a last resort, download nForce drivers from Nvidia for Vista 32/64

Found the problem. I installed Beta 1(Build 6801), which I thought was total c**p. Managed to download Beta 2 (Build 7000), both 32bit & 64bit.

Wow, the difference between the two is tremendous. It's looking like Microsoft is finally getting it right. Who needs to worry about lan drivers, it picked up the net straight away - the uac is still there, unfortunately!

The installation was a breeze, if Microsoft improves the RTM version the way they did between the two beta's, then personally, I think they've got there.

Onlt problem now since I've installed boinc on it, is to get some work - No work avaiable - just my luck!!!
