These snow pics are amazing. I haven't seen that much snow in my lifetime!

Come on out here and you will see that much and more.

There was more snow in Yosemite in June than I've seen in the last 20 years ;)

Trouble with the climate here is it's either cold & dry or warm & wet. There is very rarely a mid point where the warm moist air meets cold air and forms snow just in the right place.

The next time you get a chance to come to the states visit Klamath Falls and take a trip up to Crater Lake. You will love it.

BTW when you do visit be sure to look me up and we can have a cup of joe.

I'll do that. I am hoping for a 2009 trip but unless the £ recovers a bit that's out of the question at the moment - shame, I've been every year for the last 8 years - sometimes twice in the year! There are so many photo opportunities in the US it's hard to resist.

(Sorry for trashing the thread!)

If you can do it Plan on the early part of July. You should see a bit of snow at that time. and remember we are about 3,000 feet or 914 meters higher in elevation than you are there so you will have to take it a bit easy.

I know, I nearly killed myself last year. From 10,000 feet above (Bodie) to 280 feet below (Badwater) in one day - and I knew it!

Granted, this is last winter, but I couldn't get my Jeep into my driveway one day after work.

That comes from living in God's country. (and I don't mean the US necessarily.)
