Suggestions? - Luke. |

It wouldn't work on my Celeron, because my Celeron is a 10-year-old 400 MHz processor that can't handle anything above MMX. "Celeron" is a bit of marketing-speak that covers a huge range of processors - by itself it tells us nothing (except that we both bought cheap processors with limited cache memory, LOL). What do you think "doesn't look right" with your file? Why? What does CPU-Z say about the capabilities of your particular Celeron variant? |

The CPU doesn't matter, just distinguishing it from my Core 2 laptop. Why so many Version Numbers in it? Which one am I actually using? How do I update my MB to the latest version? - Luke. |

i assume that you started seti with that machine, so there has been more updatings on boinc and it carries all those versions in app_info files til somebody removes them, you core 2 went past those older version so it has less them versions |

As long as all your MB tasks in "progress" show as version 5.28 under BOINC manager tasks tab you could just get rid of the version 517 and 527 entries .... but I would not bother .. You probably are running the latest AK_V8_SEE2 version of MB for any of them anyway ... can't tell for sure without a completed task to look at the stderr out I think your xml file looks fine for now, I would just leave it as it is. p.s Richard was suggesting perhaps your CPU might be able to handle a higher instruction set than SEE2 ... |

You can try this one as I removed all the older references and updated versions to current. <app_info> <app> <name>setiathome_enhanced</name> </app> <file_info> <name>AK_v8_win_SSE2.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name> <version_num>528</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>AK_v8_win_SSE2.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <app_version> <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name> <version_num>603</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>AK_v8_win_SSE2.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <app> <name>astropulse</name> </app> <file_info> <name>ap_5.00r69_SSE.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> <file_info> <name>ap_4.37_SSE3_EPF.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> <file_info> <name>libfftw3f-3-1-1a_upx.dll</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>astropulse</app_name> <version_num>500</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>ap_5.00r69_SSE.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> <file_ref> <file_name>ap_4.37_SSE_EPF.exe</file_name> </file_ref> <file_ref> <file_name>libfftw3f-3-1-1a_upx.dll</file_name> </file_ref> </app_version> </app_info> Since they are only releasing version 5.00 AP, you should be fine. Or you can wait until you finish the current AP unit you are working on. |

He's edited almost everything down to SSE/SSE2, but he's left one of the Astropulse lines still with SSE3 in it!! Claggy |

And the SSE3 reference is for one of the old v4.35/v4.36 compatibility apps, which isn't set as <main_program> for the any of the remaining versions - since he's removed <version_num>435</version_num> and <version_num>436</version_num>, he could have removed both references to that file completely. |
