It's only 5.5% here in Green Bay, and 5% in Appleton. Take a drive and save a bunch...

I really like that laptop & would like one, but not at that price. PC World are selling a quad with 19" screen, 4gb ram & 500gb hd for £500. I can build it for a lot less.

It's a shame one cannot buy kit seperate & build their own laptop. If it was possible, I bet it can be done for a lot less!

It's not really an Apple computer...

Quanta the maker
Macbook Air is not an Apple innovation

"Lets go back to square one, Apple does not engineer a damn thing, it designs. For the longest time, it has taken very reliable reference designs and wrapped them in stylish plastic that magically lowers the reliability by orders of magnitude. People only see the plastic, fanbois are far too dumb to question anything, and people wonder why they break down so often. Silly Mac addicts, real computers are for those with triple digit IQs, regardless of the temperature."

No sales tax here but the price of gas to get here would kill you.

Poor folks that bought their new cars with that GM/Jeep/etc guarantee that they wouldn't pay more than $2.99 a gallon for the first year of ownership. ;-) Didn't make out quite as well as they may have thought.

According to the article, the manufacturers are working on a single piece brushed aluminium case. Now that would be classy. I have a brushed aluminium keyboard which has taken numerous knocks & still works & looks good.

I want one that's nice and sleek as well. Something smaller than the last clunky one. Been looking at the new sonys*. Whoever makes them.

@ Jeffrey. It can depend on the day of the week.
