Yep. Screwed up code signatures on our end due to file corruption when transferring files from one computer to another. We built a 4.05 with hopefully better signatures. This new version number will cause any clients (like yours) that gobbled up the bogus 4.04 to then download a healthier 4.05. I'm bouncing the project to test it now. I'll post a news item when things seem to be working.. No guarantees yet.

I rolled back to 4.03 while fixing the problem. You should get 4.05 next time you connect.

Is it necessary to use "Reset the Project" to force the download of 4.05? I've tried "Update" and switched BOINC off/on but no sign of an upgrade yet.

Any advice?

UPDATED: A new version (4.05) of the windows SETI@home client is available (and will be automatically picked up by your core clients next time you contact our servers). Changes include: the "heads up" mode now works and the progress bar advances in a more linear fashion.
Earlier today we released a similar version 4.04 which gave users checksum errors and failed to run. This has been fixed in 4.05.

Great, this fixed the problem with wrong *.exe-file. :)

But there's still the problem with downloading wu, if for any reason the download haven't started after 30 seconds instead of doing exponential backoff the wu errors out.
