The planet cycles around the star 1RSX J160929.1-210524 is a real big one, 8 times the mass of the Jupiter and very hot.

That's the nicest picture of an extrasolar planet I've ever seen (I guess it would be if it were the first). But it's really nice, period. Shoot, you probably could see an Earth-sized planet if it were in place of the existing planet. I notice it's pretty far from the star (over two arcseconds). That would be almost one astronomical unit separation for every light-year of distance.

I saw this on the BBc web site last night and apparently it is some thing like 330 AU from it's parent star although the astronomers that found it say that they will need to wait about a year to confirm that it is gravitationaly tied to the star,but,still a good find using a terestrial telescope.

4.73 × 1015 kilometers (2.94 × 1015 miles).
