It should be turned on again in the future. It has to do with the validaters and schedulers, etc. being down alot of the time as to why the pages are down now. They have been down for a long time but with the stuff going down the pages would be sooooo inacurate that they themselves would cause a ton of messages.

good reason two ...

But the primary reason is that SETI on BOINC has some issues with internal data movement and recording. To the best of my knowledge none of the other projects gets the load that SETI does. So, as part of the new system they are having to discover the best way to allocate parts of the system to the hardware.

Once they have that figured out, and the other projects chime in with their experiences then we all should benefit from this exercise. We are still in early days ... think of BOINC being a model T right now ... the model A comes later ... then the Porsche ...

And have sympathy, on top of the software problems and the loading issues they have also had several hardware outages. Heck, I just had one as I tried to upgrade my small scale lab with a pair of 3.2 GHz P4 with HT (1 M cache) to bump my 2.8 single threaded processors off the end of the line ...

I did one system Monday, the second yesterday seemed to have created 2 bad processors and 2 bad mother boards... thankfully, it was only one bad processor, with that replaced, and my old 3.0 restored to operational status, well ... I have memory to move around and then I can install the last MB into the other 2.8 (P4a I think) ...
