Use Adblock for Firefox. Three simple clicks and the offending image is gone forever.

I have a few large sigs blocked and a couple Avatars that annoy me. Plus I have an entire domain blocked (tinyurl.com) because I like to know what servers I'm pulling images from. Actually, I have it blocked at my firewall too. I'm allergic to web bugs..

Your welcome Mike!

A friend just PMed and informed me about an option to block web bugs in NoScript. The option is turned off by default. Right click on the NoScript icon, click on options, click on advanced. Check-mark the box for "Forbid web Bugs", click OK.

I'd like to see some restraint on the sizes too. I dont really wanna shut them off cuz there is some info in there (sorta) and some sigs are actually entertaining.
I just scroll past the huge ones as I really dont care if someone has this much for that and that much for this project. I often wonder about people that have joined every project there is in boinc. I guess its one a those things that makes you go.. HUMMMMMMMmmmmmmm.....

Oh and if anyone has ever noticed.. my sig graphics images and quote change every time its accessed. Its a cute thing I cooked up for our team but i'll be darned if i can figure out how to get it in to a rank display.. seems to complicated for me i guess.. lol

Signature graphics should be like a visit card: most of them have standard size and have the basic holder´s information....There should be a limit as it is with uploading a profile/avatar picture.

Yours is one of the best I have seen......Proportions of picture, quotes and personal/team information are in optimal combination.
A plus point because it is Carl Sagan!!!! and because it is an original creation, I presume.

[sarcasm]... Ummmm, how about some sparkly graphics in .sigs--...[/sarcasm]

Just turn off .sigs and pics in your forum preferences. Threads load substantially faster, less stress on the servers, and an unbelievable amount of idiocy disappears. "Here's a rock in my back yard. This is the rock next to it. Here are both rocks together."

I must admit I have grown into those sparkly fishies, they are weirdly hypnotizing.

And I'll bet you have sigs turned off so you don't even see them yourself, right?!

As for mine I wont't change it.

Not for now at least, maybe later if that day ever comes where it won't be necessary anymore ...

What would it take to get Scarecrow to make something like that for the other chickadees in your life?

I PMd him thanking him again for his generous efforts......and his sense of humour.......quite a guy.

Thank you again, Mr. Scarecrow......for heading off the dingo invasion.......LOL.

Of course. I don't want to see that Barbra Streisand.

Just there to highlight the point.

I also thought I would start posting every single thing I post like this too. You know, because it's, um, something.

And then I would wait until I was done with my post and jump down 4 or 5 lines just for the sake of putting a period there.

LOL Are you bored today? I see you are having fun to drive the boredom away.

Of course we know that you want to highlight the point, why else put those sparkly fishies there in the first place?

As I said, I have grown into them, just as with so much else. ;-)

And I really like fishies being a myself...

Hi uli......how are you?
No graphic sign at all is quite too extreme.....if the computer/server system cannot cope with a basic call sign/signature sign, then we can turn out the lights and go home!!!!!!
Let´s trick the system (not ourselves) and let´s find out another possibility by adding signs and pics and anything we want/consider useful and personal (just to step out of the crowd), for example, by changing the file format: jpg instead of bmp and so on.....
I am for avoiding extremes, opposite poles: somewhere in the middle would be fine...(my opinion)...
Cheers!

Luke: graphic size on the limit, the extra lines of text make it too big;

Thanks Martin, a bit of constructive criticism is never bad at all... I'll change it to make it smaller...

Cheers,
Luke.

SIG CHANGE 1: Deleted 2008 Goal line & The blank space between the sigstat and the Crunching on a Dell blah blah.... result = 2 lines smaller.
