Im sure this might have come up before, but I wanted know people thoughts on this.

With an 'Increase' in gravity like when you get closer to a black hole, things appears from an outside observer that you are going slower.

So if you were in a UFO, and had anti gravity, would this cause you to be going faster. Even though you would be going at a slow speed.

Would this explain when people see UFO's them seem to be able zip around, accelerate and decelerate without having to worry about G-force.

Any thoughts or ideas that would maybe contradict what I have just said.

That is not correct.

"Anti-gravity" doesn't work that way...

...and anyway, UFOs are just that: unidentified flying objects. Unless they become Confirmed Alien Spaceships, I have no reason to believe they are anything other than "Unidentified" at the moment.

That's alright Sid,

Some people will talk down to you offering no explanation for their opinions. Keep up the wondering and studying and you'll find the answers.

When I said that wasn't correct, I wasn't offering an opinion, just a statement of fact.

With the "increase in gravity" that he's talking about, such as that encountered at a black hole, you wouldn't be going at a slow speed, you would only be going at a slow speed relative to the frame of reference of someone observing you. He seemed to have gotten it right but then he contradicted himself.

Second, I don't really consider my statement on UFOs an opinion; I was just reciting what the acronym UFO actually refers to: Unidentified Flying Objects.

Until evidence affirms otherwise, there is no reason for me, you, or anyone else to suppose that UFOs are anything other than UFOs....or that they're traveling at special speeds for that matter.

That's what we needed.

Thanks

My statement about a UFO was just as an example. It was not to discuss UFO or imply they exist etc. I thought it would make the picture easier to see what I was talking about.

What im trying to say if gravity has a slowing effect on an object (from an outside observer), would the reverse happen with anti gravity, assuming anti gravity is possible. Would it look like someone would be going faster?

I know from the point of view on the person inside the field all would look the same.

But then would that person inside the field looking at the world around him see everything moving slower?

Let me give you a controversial answer. There's a polish inventor Lucjan Lagiewka who invented a thing that is believed to suppress g-forces. Don't ask me how or why but you can see it. Here's a video showing it: (FIRST READ my description ;-): the experiment has been conducted by Poznan University of Technology. You want to play the video from 4:00. You can see they're setting up everything. They enabled the device and put a piece of metal on top of the cart (on the top of black box). The cart moves toward the wall and hits it (once). The piece of metal moved few centimeters. Now (5:10), the device is disabled and again the carts hits the wall (3 times). The metal thing just flies away.) I think in Star Trek they call it inertia dumpers or sth.

BTW I was observing flies yesterday and I noticed they can change their direction of flight as quickly as UFOs. ;-)
