Gaurav Khanna has build a Astropulse application for the Playstation 3 (PS3) which uses the SPEs and crunches two WUs in parallel. The performance is good. About 70 hours / Astropulse WU. The PS3 binaries are available on my homepage. Gaurav, thank you very much for your great work ! |

Dotsch, It's a hidden gimmick. The funny thing on the thing... The idea for the avatar design was some days before the real BOINC T-Shirts with this design was released. Thanks to the BOINC promo team, I have this T-Shirt in real, too. |

I have made a mistake by the package bundeling of the PS3 application. The filename of the PS3 SPE appplication is astropulse-4.35_10.powerpc64-ps3-linux.tar.gz and not astropulse-4.35_10.powerpc-unknown-linux.tar.gz. I am very sorry ! Please download the and install the PS3 SPE binary binary. |

All of my SETI tasks exit with code 22 upon starting. I have an Intel Core 2 E8400 on Linux 2.6.25 x86_64. I thought I could run ia64 applications? If not, then how do I run stock Astropulse app with optimized SETI app? |

IA64 is the Itanium (RISC server) architecture from Intel. It's complete different from the x86/x86_64 architecture. The offical Linux x86_64 application from the SETI project would work for your system. Please stop the BOINC client, remove the app_inxo.xml and the SETI binary in the projects folder and start SETI again. |

[/quote] OK, aborted all tasks, reported, reset project, deleted all files in setiathome project folder. Restarted BOINC. Got new work. It's still trying to download the old optimized app!!! How do I fix this? I have a lot of aborted tasks now. EDIT: I had to detach and re-attach to the project. Now it's downloading the stock app. |
