I also like to watch Dr. G., that is a very interesting serie.

I'm a bit disappointed though at how they blur out all the cutting and sawing on the autopsies... :-(

Maybe because there are none? I think I saw in one of the texts that it was reenactment, that the bodies they show are not real bodies but actors made up as bodies.

But I find the cases very interesting, that she can find out so much just through an autopsy.

EDIT: It's said here:

Please note, autopsy scenes and some related sequences have been re-created to protect the privacy and dignity of individuals and their families. Those segments will be labled with this icon.

I think that the surgery in "Grey's Anatomy" is pretty well done. Mind you, I'm just going by one scene that shows an autopsy being started. They got the Y incisions correct. In the real thing, you see VERY thick layers of fat, and they didn't get that part right. So it's all reconstructive cinema, but you can tell they're trying to show it right.

I've seen about 30 autopsies performed, so that little bit of medicine I know about.

I have actually sailed on a tall ship. This was while I was in Los Angeles. We sailed from San Pedro Harbor to Catalina Island and back. It was a lot of fun. We got to help with the setting of the sails and other things while on board.
I hope you enjoy.

I've never done that! I love sail though; I don't understand those guys that love the power boats. One of these days I'm going to go on a tall ship and climb all the way up the mast rope ladder to the crow's nest...yell out "Land Ho!" Much as I love a fast convertible sports car, a crow's nest ride would be much more exciting. :]]

Yeah, I believe you when you say it was a lot of fun. I always loved tinkering with the ropes and sails on "The Steadfast". It's just so neat! :]]

I have visited other tall ships too. One of them was the Lady Washington. I got to tour her while she was in port, it is really fascinating. Everything was exactly as back in the 1700s and 1800s except for the galley of course which had a modern stove and food locker.(freezer) Everything was laid out just as it was back in the day.

Yes, the up-close view of what life was like then, is fascinating too. You know, although he have some new building materials since the 1700s, not much in the way of sailing has changed, except for the added benefits of radio, radar and GPS. But sailing is still sailing like it was back then. :]]

Yes, that is what attracts me to it. I did find out that they do cheat now though, they use small motors to help them out in times of trouble.
