I already know that the splitters chop up the data from the telescope for distribution. I can guess what some of the others do.

Lately some of the servers have been up, and some down. Like many of us, I wonder where my credits are. The validate server has been down for a while, now its up. Does it "validate" our results? The assimilator is still down; sounds like that could be involved in processing results also.

I've read all the links I could find on SETI Boinc, but I don't think I've seen an explanation of this. The links don't seem as organized as the classic SETI links are. I've had to hunt them down.
