There is a file "gui_rpc_auth.cfg" in the directory wheere the boinc binaries are installed. There you can add a password for remote connection in plain text. If the file not exist, you can create it.
If you start the BOINC client with the option "--allow_remote_gui_rpc" other BOINC managers could connect to this BOINC client with the password set in "gui_rpc_auth.cfg".
For the localhost connect, please let both fields (hostname and password) blank. If you would connect, enter the IP or hostname and the password you have set in the gui_rpc_auth.cfg.
